Testimonials
“We sincerely appreciate your services in relocating us to the
Salem area from North Bend. Your assistance with buying the right
house in the right market was critical to our family with a limited
income. The relocation and financial services program discounts
provided by OEHB are very helpful, especially to a family like ours
with busy schedules, limited income and parental responsibilities.
I want to thank you for working with us when Tami started working
for the Salem-Keizer School District, but before I was able to join
her. Your guidance through the relocation and purchasing process was
extremely helpful and we are very pleased with the home that you
helped us negotiate. Thanks again for all of your hard work and the
benefits you offer through the Oregon Educator’s Housing Benefits
program.” Aaron & Tami Geisler, teacher, Salem-Keizer
School District
“We bought our first home through OEHB last week. We were paying
$720 per month in rent and saving nothing – year after year. We now
own a beautiful home with a payment of $779.86 per month and we got
into it with a total of $381.55 out of our pocket. But the best
part is that in the next 5-years we will save over $8,700 in taxes,
and our home should increase in value by over $27,000! To say the
least – we’re ecstatic!”

“As first time homebuyers, we were excited at the possibility of
owning our own home. We had been renting for over 5 years and felt
we were ready. We called OEHB and they set us up with a loan agent
to get our financing squared away. After being pre-approved and
knowing what our buying options were, we began shopping for a
house.
Armed with a list of homes for sale, which Bill had quickly printed
off for us, we spent some time driving around looking. After
looking we spotted a house we thought we would like to see the
inside of. It was not on our list, but had a ‘for sale by owner’
sign in the yard. We arranged a walk-through for the next day and
Bill was there to meet with the owner and us. We didn’t realize
then, but now know that Bill asked all the important questions that
day and helped us avoid a huge pitfall.
We liked the inside of the house and wanted to make an offer. But,
Bill insisted that we let him check on the professionalism of the
builder and on the owner. After some looking, Bill was able to find
out that the builder was not licensed at the time that the home was
built and that the property’s ownership was in dispute. Without
knowing this, we could have made an offer and given our earnest
money to someone who didn’t have the legal rights to sell the home.
This had the potential to be a very sticky situation.
We immediately began looking at other properties. Bill called us
just a few days later, and said he had a property for sale that we
might like. We did some ‘walk-throughs’ and found a house that we
loved. It was in the same neighborhood as the first home we liked
and 200 sq. feet larger. We were very excited. Bill helped us
write a great offer and it got accepted immediately! Thanks to
Bill’s help we got a great house and avoided a huge catastrophe. We
would highly recommend OEHB to anyone. We couldn’t have done it
without them!” Aaron & Michelle Shown, teachers for Scio
School District
“With today's fast paced life styles, there is a huge need for
organizations such as OEHB. All we did was tell them our housing
and financing needs and they did the rest. Other than physically
looking at the homes we were able to do everything via email and
phone. They did all the ‘loan shopping’ and presented us with eight
different proposals. Although we did some shopping on our own, we
couldn't find a better financing package than they had. Their
services are especially helpful for those relocating from another
state. I would highly recommend OEHB. Steve Kelley, Director
of Curriculum, Lebanon Community School District
“I just wanted to say thank you for getting us into our first home.
With Jason being a teacher out in Stayton, we weren’t sure if we
could find a program that would overlook his student loans.
Although we don’t have to pay on his loans right now because of his
low salary range, we thought it would still be next to impossible.
I am so glad you were the one to answer the phone that March
afternoon. I knew it was meant to be when you mentioned the OEHB
programs you offered. I knew this was the way to go. And now that
I am a loan consultant for Landmark Mortgage, I see the need for the
program in several of my clients. Thank you for all that you have
done for us and I look forward to the next time we get the
opportunity to work with you and OEHB as a team. Thanks again.”
